Those who are scattered preached the word wherever they went.
— Acts 8:4

Your contribution will change the world.

We believe that God is at work establishing his kingdom in this world, and we want to participate in that divine work. Over the last 13 years, the South Sound Church of Christ (SSCoC) has generously raised hundreds of thousands of dollars towards spreading the gospel. In recent years, our focus has been categorized into three areas: Global, Regional, and Local Missions.

Global

For many years, the SSCoC has contributed to the Baltic Nordic Missions Alliance (BNMA), a collection of churches from our fellowship dedicated to supporting our sister congregations in Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden. This support consists of financial donations as well as relational and spiritual connection. 50% of our SSCoC Special Missions Collection will support global missions. For example, as a direct financial contribution to the BNMA or to fund the relational and spiritual efforts, such as sending staff or elders to visit those churches. Landon and Gina Rawson attend the annual BNMA meeting, where the budget for the following year is set. The budget focuses on supplementing the salaries of the full time staff in the supported churches, as well as contributing to expenses such as meeting facilities, regional conferences, and hiring interns.

Regional

Since its inception in 2006, the SSCoC has participated with sister congregations in the Pacific Northwest, including Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Western Canada. The leaders from these sister churches collaborate on things such as regional conferences, North West Youth Camp, Campus and Singles Ministry Retreats, supporting existing churches and planting new congregations. 30% of our SSCoC Special Missions Collection will go towards these efforts, as direct financial contributions or towards offsetting the costs of participating in them.

Local

We believe strongly in sharing the Gospel in our communities and neighborhoods. The SSCoC has grown organically from a small region of our sister church in Seattle, to becoming its own church, to having three regions of its own, meeting separately in Tacoma, Puyallup, and Kitsap. None of this would have been possible if our members did not share their faith with those around them. These local efforts often cost nothing, consisting simply of kind and faithful words to a neighbor. Other times, these efforts utilize events, guest speakers, HOPE events, staff, training programs, or other methods that have a monetary cost. 20% of our SSCoC Special Missions Contribution will go towards these expenses.

The Goal

This year, we are not collecting pledges, but rather taking up your free will offering. Collection will start May 26 and end June 30.
